How to Add Linked Objects
Essentially there are three steps to the operation:
- choose your Filter parameters,
- preview the objects
- select a destination
First, select the filter parameters in the Selection section of the Add Linked Objects dialog box, or alternatively if you have a pre-defined filter profile, you can select it from the Profiles section by clicking the Load button.
Then once you are satisfied with the filter parameters, click the Preview button located in the bottom right-hand corner of the dialog box and all the objects that conform to your chosen filter parameters and which are linked to your initial selected object or objects will be displayed in the View result as section, as shown below.
When the List by Links tab is selected, the objects that have been found will be displayed with the corresponding link type. |
The List by Objects tab lists only the objects that have been found. |
Notes
- When the objects are first displayed in each preview tab, those that are NOT highlighted are escalated links (if you have chosen to search for these).
Adding Objects to the Graphical View
To add objects to the Graphical View, you first need to highlight them. When you have selected the objects you want to add, click OK - the objects will then be placed in the Graphical View.
You can also add multiple objects by holding down the SHIFT or the CTRL key and then selecting the objects with the mouse.
If you want to select a specific Layer for the destination of the objects, chose it from the drop down list box in the Target section.
