Profile Builder dialog box

The Profile Builder dialog box is launched when you click the Create button in the Profile Manager dialog box. It is used to define the filter parameters for your filter profile.

Name This field contains the name of the Filter Profile that is being created or modified. Click Load to open a Profile from the Profile Manager dialog box.
Path This field contains the profile's path as stored on your PC. Click Browse to search for another filter profile saved on your PC.
Display in Menu Select this option if you want your newly created filter profile to be displayed in the Profile Manager dialog box.

If you leave this option blank, the profile will be saved on your PC, but will NOT appear in the Profile Manager dialog box.

Objects This section lists all the object types that can be included in the filter.

The plus (+) sign next to an object indicates that this object is a parent object and that it contains other child (sub) objects. You can view these child objects by clicking the plus (+) sign.

The minus (-) sign next to an object indicates that all the child objects one level down have been displayed. Other child objects at a lower level may then become visible and will be indicated by another plus (+) sign.

If you want to include a certain type of object, select that particular object - a tick will then be visible next to the object. You can select all child objects stored under a parent object, regardless of the level, by selecting the parent object.

By default, all object types are pre-selected.

Notes

  • If you want to select only some of the child objects, first clear the parent object which will also clear all the child objects, then select the child objects that you require. The parent object check box will then become gray, indicating that only some of its child objects have been selected.
Link type definition This section displays all the types of links handled by the application and functions in exactly the same way as the Objects section above.

By default all link types are pre-selected, except Escalated Links.

Notes

  • You can find out more information about the Link types displayed in this dialog box by consulting the Links section.
Ways This section simply enables you to filter either Calling or Called objects.
  • Calling objects are those objects that call a selected object.
  • Called objects are those that are used or called by another object.
Select the appropriate option(s) according to you needs.
Like The Like section enables you to filter on a search string. Only those objects matching this string will be found in the search or saved in the profile for use at a later date.

The two options underneath, Check whole word only, and Match case, are self-explanatory. Enter and check the options as you require.

Add Linked Options These three options govern the behavior of the Add Linked Objects dialog box when using it in conjunction with a Profile:
  • Auto Preview

Selecting this option will force the Add Linked Objects dialog box to automatically display a preview of the identified linked objects. There is no need to click the Preview button to display these objects.

  • No Window

Selecting this option will cause the Add Linked Objects dialog box to be skipped completely.

  • Standard

Select this option if you want to continue using the default behavior, i.e.: the Add Linked Objects dialog box will not be skipped and you will need to click Preview to view a list of the linked objects.

Notes
  • These three options are only available when you launch the Add Linked Objects process via the User Add Linked Object option.
